Albert W. DeCosta, Sr. "Bud", age 74, of Rio Grande passed away on Saturday November 11, 2017 at the Cape Regional Medical Center in Cape May Court House. Bud was born in North Wildwood and was a lifelong area resident. He served in the US Air Force from 1964-1972 and was involved in the Vietnam War. Bud was a retired Supervisor in the Bakery Dept. of Bayside Prison in Leesburg. He also worked for Snuffy's Luncheonette in Wildwood Crest. He coached (younger kids) basketball and football for the Wildwood Crest Recreation Dept. and had been a volunteer member of the Wildwood Crest Ambulance Corp. He is survived by his wife Carol DeCosta (nee Smith); three sons: Albert W. Decosta Jr., Douglas W. (Kimberly) Decosta and Kevin R. DeCosta; a brother, Bill DeCosta and two sisters, Marjorie (Jeff) Kuncle and Donna (Dennis) Was. Bud was preceded in death by his brother George DeCosta and his brother-in-law and sister-in-law William & Joanne Smith. Bud also leaves many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Road, N. Cape May; where relatives and friends will be received from 1 to 2 pm. Burial will be private at the Fairview Cemetery in Cape May Court House. In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions in his memory to the Love of Linda Cancer Fund, PO Box 1053, Wildwood, NJ 08260. Condolences will be received at www.evoyfuneralhome.com .
