Obituary of Helen Jean Hunter

Helen D Hunter, age 86, of Villas passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at her home. Helen was born July 9, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA and has been a Cape May area resident for 30 years. She is the daughter of the late Robert and the late Ida (Humes) Dugan. Helen received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at West Chester University. She worked at Presbyterian Hospital, Graduate Hospital, and Hahnemann Hospital. Helen spent 11 years working as a nurse for the Lower Township School System. She was very active in St Barnabas by the Bay Episcopal Church and was a member of the Cape May Seniors. Helen was preceded in death by her brothers: William Dugan, Robert Dugan, John Dugan, & James Dugan. She is survived by her husband of 64 years Howard C Hunter; her son David (Dorthea) Hunter of Drexel Hill, PA; her son Bruce (Lisa) Hunter of Drexel Hill, PA; and her daughter Leigh (David) Corbin of Bucks County, PA. Also surviving are her sister Katherine Davis, 8 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. There will be a funeral service at 10:00 AM on Monday, August 21, 2017 at St Barnabas by the Bay Episcopal Church, 13 W of Bates Ave, Villas, NJ 08251; where friends will be received from 9:00 to 10:00 AM.
