Michael J. Riederer, age 58, of Lower Township passed away Friday, June 23, 2017 at his home. Michael was born in Philadelphia, PA and grew up in Holland, Bucks County, PA. He moved to Cape May to start a business after graduating from Penn State. "Baker Mike" was the owner and operator of Cape May Bakers, along with his wife, for over three decades. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Lynnda (McKenna) Riederer; a daughter Kirsten (Wayne) Saunders; a son Ryan Riederer; his parents Elmer and Mary Ellen (nee Patrick) Riederer; sisters: Mary Ellen (John) Ginty & Regina (Rob) Sargent; a brother Matthew Riederer (John); nephews: Max McKenna, Tim Sargent, & Corey Sargent; and nieces: Louise McKenna, Kelsey Sargent, & Grace Ginty. Michael will be missed by many aunts, uncles, in-laws, friends, golfing buddies, customers, co-workers from the bakery and the Chalfonte, and his two favorite cats who sat by his side as he valiantly battled cancer. There will be a Memorial Service at 12:00 PM on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Michael's memory to the Love of Linda Cancer Fund, PO Box 1053, Wildwood, NJ 08260 or a local Animal Shelter of your choosing.
