Obituary of Margaret Ann Cummings

Margaret Ann "Peggy" (nee Baker) Cummings, age 84, of Cape May passed away Monday, January 9, 2017 at Cape Regional Medical Center. Margaret was born June 8, 1932 in Philadelphia, PA and has been a Cape May resident since 1992. She is the daughter of the late Edward and the late Anne (Dawson) Baker. Margaret was a graduate of Little Flower High School in Philadelphia, received her Bachelor's Degree from Thomas Edison College, and her Master's Degree from California State University. She was a Secretary/Administrator at Temple University Hospital, Administrator at Equafax, a teacher at Atlantic Cape Community College, and a volunteer at Our Lady Star of the Sea School. Margaret was a genealogist, enjoyed writing poetry, playing the piano, and was an animal lover. She was an active member of Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church in Cape May. Margaret was preceded in death by her two brothers: Edward Baker and Robert Baker. She is survived by her husband of 62 years James A Cummings, her son James A (Cynthia) Cummings, Jr., and her son Christopher E (Irene) Cummings. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Our Lady Star of the Sea RC Church, 525 Washington St, Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 10 to 11AM. Interment will be private. The family suggests donations in Margaret's memory to the Little Flower High School, 1000 West Lycoming Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140.
