Mary R. Hughes, age 73, of Del Haven passed away on Wednesday at her home. Born in Phila., Pa. she was an area resident since 1979. She owned and operated the Villas Shoe Box on Bayshore Road. She was a pre-school and kindergarten teacher at St. Raymonds and St. John of God Schools, where she was known as Aunt Mary. She was a member of St. Raymonds Church. Surviving are her children, Robert J. Cochran of Del Haven, Timothy P. Cochran of Villas, Daniel B. Cochran of Carnesville, GA., step-son Steven (Jean) Cochran of Sugar Hill, GA, Nancy Sebastian (Bill Lugar) of Brown Summit, N.C. and Kathleen Macaulay of Cape May Court House; eleven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Paul (Bud) McGee of Glenolden, Pa., and Richard McGee of Minn.; sisters, Alice Schmucki of West Chester, Pa., Rose Mary (Sis) Ransom of Cape May Court House and Anna Marie Gray of Havertown, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Hughes and a son, James P. Cochran. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, 11 AM at St. Raymonds Church, Bayshore & Ocean Ave., Villas, NJ, where friends may call from 10 AM. Burial will be private.
