Shawnta Lowery, 47, formerly of Sumter, South Carolina passed peacefully at home on August 25, 2026. Shawnta was born in Frankfurt, Germany to his parents James McFedden and Sharon Lowery. He came to America when he was 11 years old where he lived the majority of his life in the Carolinas. Shawnta relocated to New Jersey where he met his loving companion of 8 years, Kaitlin Luker.

When Shawnta came to New Jersey, he proudly worked as a maintenance technician for Complete Care of Cape May Court house until his health no longer let him. In his free time, he enjoyed spending time with his family. He thoroughly enjoyed fishing, the beach, and watching basketball, as he favorited the Chicago Bulls.

Shawnta is preceded in death by his grandparents as well as his brother Cedrick McFedden.

Shawnta will be dearly missed by his loving spouse and caretaker, Kaitlin Luker; children, Kamery Lowery, Shawnta Lowery, Keshawn Lowery, and Kayden Lowery; stepdaughter Kaylie Shough; father James and stepmother Joyce; mother Sharon; brothers Shane Lowery and James McFedden: and sisters April and Kayla McFedden.

A Memorial Visitation will take place on Saturday, September 5th from 10AM to 11AM with a Memorial Service starting at 11AM at Evoy Funeral Homes, Inc., 3218 Bayshore Rd. N. Cape May, NJ. 08204

Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
