Karen Love Farrell of Lower Township passed away on July 17, with her husband, Kevin, of 39 years holding her hand.  Born in Philadelphia and raised on Benton Street, Karen was a true Cape May native.  She loved to tease Kevin that he was not native but merely local, as he did not move to the area until he was 12 years old. 

Karen attended college at Loyola University in Chicago before moving to Machias, Maine, where she was a white water canoe guide, sold real estate, and taught real estate at the University of Maine.  After returning home to Cape May, she sold real estate, managed a title agency, and retired as a vice president of Ocean First Bank.

When not working, Karen had a full life.  She enjoyed reading, gardening, teaching Sunday School, “poolsitting,” sailing in the British Virgin Islands with close friends, and sitting on the beach with her chair in the water.  Above all though, she loved her family. 

Karen is survived by her husband Kevin, her son Wes (Elise), and three grandchildren, Emmett, Adeline, and Josephine.   They were the love of her life.  She loved them, and they loved her.

Funeral services will be held July 25th at Evoy Funeral Homes, Inc., 3218 Bayshore Road, North Cape May, New Jersey, 08204.  Visitation will be held from 10AM - 12PM, immediately followed by a memorial service.  In lieu of flowers, her family requests donations be made to Shriner's Hospitals for Children or Revolve Church.
