Kenneth Kajkowski Obituary


Kenneth “Ken” Kajkowski, age 78, of Del Haven, NJ passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at Cooper University Hospital Cape Regional of Middle Township, NJ.  Ken was born July 30, 1947 in Floral Park, NY, lived most of his life in Ringoes, NJ and then retired to the Cape May area.  He is the son of late Anthony Kajkowski and Emilia (Slabowski) Motylinski.  Along with Emilia, he was raised by late step father John Motylinski.  He attended Catholic School as a child and served as an altar boy before going to public high school on Long Island.  Ken was a graduate of C.W. Post with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry.  He later attended Rutgers University where he received a Master of Science also in Chemistry.  


Ken was initially employed at the Health Department on Long Island, NY where he met his wife Eileen (Farrell) Kajkowski.  After moving to New Jersey and being employed by RCA, he took a job as a chemist at Exxon.  Around this time, Eileen and Ken had their only son and child, Matthew Kajkowski.  After working at various sites including, Linden, Florham Park, and Clinton, NJ and finally Fairfax, VA where he retired from. 


Ken was an avid photographer who had his own dark room to develop pictures in.   He was a sports fan rooting for the New York Yankees and the New York Giants.  In his youth he loved to play baseball and later stick ball with his life-long friend John Zelinski.  After his playing days, Ken was baseball coach in the East Amwell Little League.  He was a lifetime fresh and salt water fisherman. Ken was a fan of rock-n-roll with his favorite band being the Rolling Stones.  He has travelled all over the United States visiting many National Parks and cities with Eileen.  Over his lifetime, he acquired many hobbies including: astronomy, keeping tropical fish, and birding.


He is survived by one son: Matthew Kajkowski; and one sister: Virginia Volino.  He is also survived by two grandchildren Ellen and Matthew, Jr. 


Relatives and Friends are invited to a visitation Tuesday April 14, 2026 from 6 to 8 pm at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Road, North Cape May, NJ. a second visitation will be held Wednesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 at the funeral home.   A Mass of Christian Burial will be held  Wednesday April 15, 2026, t11:00 AM at St. John Neumann Parish/St. John of God Church, 680 Townbank Road, North Cape May, NJ.    Burial will be held privately at the Cold Spring Cemetery at a later date.
