Rosa C. Roque Obituary
Rosa Roque passed away peacefully on March 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. She was 82 years old.
Born in Portugal, Rosa met the love of her life, Fernando, in the most fitting of ways - she was working the drying racks for salted cod (bacalhau), he was fishing the sea. They walked home together and never stopped. She later made the journey to the United States, where they built a life rooted in love, hard work, and unwavering devotion to family.
Rosa was the heart of her home in every sense. Her house was immaculate - clothes always washed and pressed, never a thing out of place. Her door was always open, her table always set for one more, and her hugs given freely and often. She was the hardest worker, yet her greatest joy was simply being surrounded by her family.
Her quiet strength, endless sacrifice, and constant love were the foundation upon which her family was built. She will be profoundly missed and forever loved.
Rosa is survived by her sons: Fernando Jr., his wife Colleen, their children Tanya, Nicole, Kayla and her husband Brian, Brittney and her husband Curt, and Trisha and her husband Derek, and their grandchildren; Nelson, his wife Dawn, and their children Elizabeth and Emily; and Steven, his wife Berdine, and their children Ikeah and her fiancé Jordan, Isaiah, and Cirina.
Family and friends are invited to pay their final respects Friday, May 8th at 10AM at the Parish of St. John Neumann Church of St. Raymond 800 Bayshore Road Villas NJ 08251. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM following the visitation. Rosa will be laid to rest with the love of her life, her husband Fernando, at Cold Spring Cemetery, 780 Seashore Road Cape May, NJ 08204.
