Charlotte E. Jones (Krewson), 88, was called home to be with the Lord in the early hours on Saturday, February 28th. She will be forever loved and dearly missed by her two children, family, and friends.
Charlotte was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. Charlotte, at the age of 18, went to and graduated from John Bartram High School of Philadelphia in 1955. Charlotte was then employed by GE as a secretary. After the time of marrying her (late) husband, Roy M. Jones, she continued to work at GE until the birth of their first child in Philadelphia, and then shortly after moved to Broomall, PA. She then remained a stay-at-home mom till both her children moved from the home. She then became a bus driver for the Marple Newton School District, driving for Special Needs Children. She worked with the school district until she retired with her husband to Cape May, NJ in 1999. Above all else, she loved her family, her Lord, and gave of herself without hesitation.
She is preceded in death by her late husband Roy, parents Charles and Dorothy Krewson (Boyd), and her sister, Dorothy O’Connor (Krewson).
Charlotte is survived by her two children, Lynn Downs (Jones), Bryan Jones and daughter-in-law Pam Jones (Walsh); grandchildren: Angela Hatton, Megan Marren, Ashley Jones, Kaitlyn McGuire (Marren); great grandchildren: Nicholas Hamski, Nathan Hamski, Jesse Monastra, Mike Monastra, Adam Monastra, Gavin Cobb and Violet Cobb.
Funeral service will be held at Cape May Presbyterian Church, 500 Hughes Street, Cape May, NJ 08204 on Saturday, March 14th. Visitation takes place at 10:00am immediately followed by a funeral service at 11:00. Evoy Funeral Homes, Inc., will be handling the funeral arrangements.
Following the services, you are invited to a luncheon that will be held at Cape May Lobster House. This was Charlotte’s favorite restaurant.
