MaryJane Larkin Obituary

It is with great sadness the family of Mary Jane (MJ) Larkin, 75, of Cape May announces her recent passing.  Born September 20, 1950 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late James and Gertrude (Graham) Watson, Sr.

MJ worked for many years as a clerk at the Lobster House and the Fish Market in Cape May.  She also bartended for 20 plus years at the Stella Maris Home Association and the Lower Township Moose Lodge #1054 where she was also a member of both organizations.  Being a bartender at both places allowed her to meet many people over the years.  She became a friend to those she served.

Her favorite past times were relaxing by her pool with a cold Miller Lite, playing three card poker with her friends and spending time with her pets and fishing.

MJ could be described as loving yet firm, stubborn and unfiltered.  She didn’t mind speaking up for what she believed in.  Her kindness and generosity touched many especially her children’s friends; many of whom affectionately referred to as an Aunt.

MJ is survived by the love of her life, her husband of 54 years Leonard Larkin, Sr.; daughter Patricia; sons Leonard, Jr. (Danielle Seery) and Paul II (Aaren); grandchildren Paul III, Hayley, CJ, Kyra, Kendall, Liam, Charlotte; great grandchildren Brielle and Bennett; siblings Jack (Patricia), Michael and Nancy; several nieces and nephews as well as many dear friends.

A Celebration of MJ’s Life will be held 2 PM Thursday, February 12 at Evoy Funeral Home 3218 Bayshore Road North Cape May.  Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 12PM until the time of service.  Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Please consider making a contribution to the Cape May County Animal Shelter in memory of MaryJane in lieu of flowers.
