Rochelle D. Morello, 78, passed away peacefully with her husband, Bill, by her side on January 5, 2026, at her home in Wildwood, New Jersey, following a short battle with cancer.
Rochelle was born on March 23, 1947, to Charles and Lee DiNardo in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was raised in Philadelphia before settling in Delaware County. Rochelle graduated from Collingdale High School in 1965 and began her career at General Electric shortly thereafter. In 1985, she accepted a position as a Facilities Manager at GlaxoSmithKline, where she dedicated 25 years of service before retiring in 2010. On June 16, 1987, Rochelle married Bill Laskowsky, and they shared 39 loving years together until her passing.
Rochelle and Bill enjoyed traveling to Italy, New Orleans, and most of all, the casinos in Atlantic City. In 2018, Rochelle and Bill made Wildwood their permanent address. They took their dog for strolls on the beach, enjoyed breakfast at the local diners, and spent every day of retirement together.
Throughout her years, Rochelle had many pets who brought her endless joy. She was never without a dog or two, and a few of her favorites were Pepper, Penny, Muffin, Lucky and her current pup, Jellybean. Most memorable of her pets were her parakeets Elvis and Priscilla. She also followed all things Pop-culture. Her first love was Elvis, and she enjoyed the glamour of old Hollywood, especially Gone With the Wind. She could be found reading up on the latest activities of Kate and William or enjoying a night at home watching Dancing with the Stars.
Being raised in Philadelphia, Rochelle was an avid Philly sports fan with the exception of her grand-nephew’s team, Inter Miami. Like a typical Philly fan, she had a love-hate relationship with the Eagles. On game day, she kept busy texting her son-in-law and grandsons with her strong opinions. It gives her family joy to know that the Eagles are the reigning Super Bowl champs at the time of her passing. Rochelle had a generous heart and one of her favorite seasons was Christmas so that she could spoil her loved ones with tons of gifts! On November 1st, the Christmas music would get cranked up, much to the chagrin of her youngest daughter! She had a passion for collecting and surrounded herself with her favorite dolls, teacups, figurines and miniatures. If you ever told her you liked something in her collection, it became yours and you didn't didn’t fight her on it.
Although many Italians bicker over who makes the best meatballs, Rochelle’s were truly the actual best. Her chicken cutlets and Spritz cookies were up there too. She always made sure she had enough food to feed a small army and kept a watchful eye of who needed seconds.
Of utmost importance to her were her grandchildren, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. May they always know how much she held them dear. Our family would like to acknowledge the Journey Hospice, as we are forever grateful for the compassionate care Rochelle received. We are especially thankful to Lilly for her kindness, empathy, and guidance.
Rochelle was survived by her husband, Bill Laskowsky, her beloved dog Jellybean; her daughter Rochelle Sajda, and her children Jillian, Jeremy, and Joshua; her daughter Danielle Morcom and her husband Michael and their children Elizabeth and Alexander; her daughter Nicole Mathias and her husband Matthew and their children Owen and Cameron. She was also survived by her many nieces and nephews, and carried a closeness to her niece Desiree Fray and her three children Justin, Marlee and Ian, her grand-niece Alexa Moran, grand-nephew Mackenzie Moran, and grand-niece Ciara. Rochelle was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Lee Dinardo, her sisters Lucille Loverdi and Charlotte Moran, her beloved niece Anne, and nephew Ricky.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Cape May County SPCA, Toys for Tots Cape May County or The Charlotte Moran Fund. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
