Nancy Salley (Nee Thorn), age 94, of Wildwood Crest, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Roy Salley.

Born in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey, to her parents, Wesley and Esther Thorn. Nancy grew up in Lyndhurst, New Jersey and spent her early years surrounded by family and larger-than-life characters who shaped her stories and spirit.

Nancy raised her family in West Paterson, where she built a full and lively home. She was the proud mother of four children, born in two close-knit chapters of her life: Roy and Wayne, just ten months apart, followed ten years later by Kim, and three years after that, Scott. She had a passion for painting and often set her sights on rivaling Thomas Kinkade—a goal many in Wildwood Crest would attest she took quite seriously. Her artwork could be found everywhere: in banks, pharmacies, doctors’ offices, and the homes of handymen,

neighbors, and friends throughout the island.

One of Nancy’s fondest memories was celebrating her fiftieth wedding anniversary with her children and grandchildren in Kinsale, Ireland—an unforgettable family gathering filled with love, laughter, and stories retold for years to come. She loved the company of her neighbors and friends. Her door—and her bar—were always open, and no visit went without conversation, refreshments, and her signature “snicky snacks,” served at all times and to everyone. She is survived by her children, Roy (Karen, deceased), Wayne (Diane), Kim (James Watkins), Scott (Amy), brother Bill Thorn (Pearl), her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many friends and neighbors who will miss her warmth, wit, creativity, and generous spirit.

She will rest in peace next to her husband, Roy, of 72 years who is laid to rest in the Military

section of the Cold Spring Cemetery.             Graveside Services , 11:00 am on January12, 2026.
