Constantino F. "Consti" Lumbruno Obituary

Constantino F. “Consti” Lumbruno, beloved father, grandfather, veteran, and lifelong fisherman, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2025, in Cape May, New Jersey.

Born on January 2, 1934, in Gloucester, Massachusetts, Consti grew up by the sea—a place that would shape his life and his passions. After graduating high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1954 to 1956. Upon his return home, he embraced his true calling as a fisherman, heading out onto the waters that he loved with unwavering dedication and skill. For decades, Consti made his life on the ocean, earning respect as a bunker fisherman whose knowledge and expertise became a legacy he passed down to others.

A lifelong member of the St. Peter’s Men’s Club in Gloucester, Consti treasured his community, his work, and the simple joys of life. He had a famously sweet tooth and a deep love for sports, but nothing brought him greater pride than his family.

Consti is survived by his children: William Lumbruno & wife Susan, Regina Lumbruno, and Constantino Lumbruno & partner Iris Perez; and his cherished grandchildren: Iesha, Constantino, Isaiah, Alisa, and Jonhas Lumbruno and great grandchildren: Zoey , Carilla & Camden Lumbruno. He spoke of them with joy and pride to anyone who would listen, delighting in their accomplishments and laughter. He is also survived by his brother William “Billy Boy” Lumbruno & wife Sue.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Lumbruno; his mother, Nancy Sabella Lumbruno; his brother, George Lumbruno; his sister, Josephine Lumbruno; and wife Barbara La Pointe Lumbruno.

Consti lived his life with the strength of a giant and the heart of a lion. He moved through this world with courage, resilience, and an enduring love that will remain with all who knew him. He taught those around him not just the craft of fishing, but how to face life with steady hands and a generous spirit.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial flowers be placed at the Cape May Lost Fisherman’s Memorial, located at 1021 Baltimore Avenue in Cape May, NJ, in honor of Consti and all who have given their lives to the sea.

May he rest in peace and fair winds always be at his back.
