Mary E. "Myra" Lee Obituary

Mary Elmira Lee of North Cape May, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at her home on December 6th, 2025 at the remarkable age of 105. She was born in Philadelphia in 1920 to the late Henry Kelley and Sarah (nee Seltzer) and attended Overbrook High School.

Myra was the beloved wife of the late John “Jack” Joseph Lee. She was predeceased by her husband Jack, her sister Sarah, her brother William, and her son-in-law Kristoff Gintowt. She is survived by her six loving children: Judith Budin (Michael), John J. Lee Jr. (Jeanette), Joseph C. Lee (Denice), Janice Gintowt (late Kristoff), James F. Lee (Debra), and Mary Patrice Lee. She was a cherished grandmother to 16 grandchildren and a proud great-grandmother to 17 great-grandchildren. Myra was especially blessed to have met her 18th great-grandchild, baby Maeve, born September 29, 2025.

A vibrant soul, Myra was very well known and deeply loved throughout her community in North Cape May. She loved after-dinner walks on the bay, watching the Cape May Lewes Ferry sail in, and reading the Reader’s Digest. If you were lucky, you were able to hear her impromptu renditions of her favorite tunes. Myra was the life of every party, and always the last one to leave, even after reaching 100 years on this planet.

She witnessed more than a century of change and welcomed each chapter with excitement, from being the first house on the block to have electricity to living through two pandemics! She especially took special interest in the coronation of the 10 popes who spanned her lifetime.

She never missed the chance to have a glass of champagne with oysters rockefeller and always found a way to take a snooze without messing up her hair. Myra leaves behind generations who will forever cherish her stories, witty remarks, and memories shared.

She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
