Stephen Calfine, 49, a lifelong resident of Cape May County, entered his eternal rest on November 21, 2025. He passed peacefully at home following a final seizure.
Born on April 29, 1976, to Mary and Paul Calfina, Stephen grew into a master carpenter—passionate, creative, and remarkably gifted in his trade. His craftsmanship was not only his livelihood but also his greatest joy, passion, and identity. In recent years, his seizure disorder prevented him from continuing his work, but his love for the craft was unwavering.
Stephen now joins his father, Paul, and other loved ones who have gone before him. He leaves behind his four daughters: Shevi'Lynn Toney and her husband Mo, Lacee, Talia, and Paisley — as well as his three beloved grandchildren, McKinley, Leo, and Georgia. He is survived by his mother, Mary; his sister Sharon and her husband Michael, along with their children Amber, Beckett, Michael, and Gregory; his brother Gregory and his children Ariel and Aaron; and his brother Paul. Stephen’s memory will also be cherished by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A celebration of Stephen’s life is being planned at Top Golf on what would have been his 50th birthday. Details will be shared in early April 2026 by Shevi'Lynn Toney via Facebook.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The Epilepsy Foundation or to Change the Air Foundation, which focuses on mold-induced seizure disorders and prevention.
