Jack A. Ward Obituary

Jack Ward, 95, of Lady Lake, Florida, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, at Cornerstone Hospice House in The Villages, Florida.

Born on July 4, 1930, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Thomas and Edith Ward, Jack was only five years old when his father passed away. He and his three siblings were subsequently raised at the Lutheran Home in Germantown. Jack attended Germantown High School and, at the age of 17, proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, serving honorably until he was 24.

Following his military service, Jack pursued higher education at West Chester State Teachers College, where he studied Physical Education. He enjoyed a long career as an electrician. An avid sports enthusiast throughout his life, Jack loved baseball, football, swimming, and nearly every athletic pursuit.

Jack is survived by his devoted children, Andrew Ward and his wife Dorothy, Mary Kay McCarthy and her husband Brian, and Colleen Ward; as well as his cherished grandchildren, Andrew Ward Jr. and Carolyn Ward.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Yvonne Ward; his sisters Jean Gorman and Betty Ward; his brother Bill Ward; and his stepsister Karen.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Andrew’s Gift, P.O. Box 6014, Harrisburg, PA 17112 or click this link www.andrewsgift26.com.
