John G. Sweeten, age 75 of North Cape May passed away peacefully on November 18, 2025 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis.

He was a lifelong resident of Cape May Co and served in US Navy aboard the USS Barry DD933. John was a retired Grocery Manager for A&P and Superfresh grocery stores and had worked for them for 43 years.

John was preceded in death by his parents Ruth Sweeten and John Sweeten. He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, .Kathy Sweeten; son John Jr. (Jessica), stepsons, Bill Cripps (Crystal) and Charles Cripps (Heather); a brother Bob Sweeten and 7 grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, November 21, 2025 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Road, North Cape May, NJ, where friends will be received from 1 to 2 pm. Following the Memorial Service a Committal Service, Military Honors and Burial of Cremains will be held at the Cape May Co. Veterans Cemetery, 127 Crest Haven Road, Cape May Court House.
