Thomas F. Greene Obituary

Notorious for long-winded voicemails that got cut off at the 4 minute maximum; Tom had the gift of gab. Tom did not put a lot of stock in physical belongings. Instead, he valued relationships he forged with so many people. No matter where he went, he knew someone. He could chat with a newly discovered, long-lost friend from Philadelphia, while I was bored out of my mind. As boring as it was for me at the time, looking back now I’d give anything to be by his side again, taking in all of it.

When I was a kid, Tom would take me and usually a friend of mine to Wildwood a number of times each summer. First we’d go to the beach for a few hours. Then we’d go use a friend’s outdoor shower to clean up. Next we’d go up to the boardwalk to eat and go on rides. Mack’s pizza was his favorite.

Tom went all out and bought us wristbands that were like the keys to the kingdom - it got us on any and all the rides we wanted. He just watched us on the ride and would smile or wave while we were having great fun. He rode the swings, Ferris wheel, and sometimes the log flume with me.

Tom did not have an ideal childhood. I think that kind of home life led him to treat his only child like a princess.

I could tell stories about him for hours (like father like daughter), but I hope to have painted an accurate picture of the wonderful man my dad was.

Of one thing I am certain - my dad loved me. He would often say, “I love you. Couldn’t love you more.” And that is inarguably true.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents Francis and Nancy (O'Rourke) Greene and brother Jack Greene. He is survived by his daughter Cecelia McNaughton and sister Cathy Munchback.

Family services will be held privately.
