It is with heavy hearts and profound grief the family of Zachary J. Kane announces his sudden passing at the age of 36 on Thursday, September 25, 2025.
The youngest of six children, Zachary was born in Livingston, NJ and was the beloved son of the late Patricia R. (Mosior) Kane. He was a 2007 graduate of Nutley High School. After graduating, he enlisted in the United States Army and was promoted to the rank of Specialist in his Military Police unit during the Iraq War.
Post military service, Zak pursued a career in the restaurant industry. His charm, natural charisma and dedication to service fostered strong relationships with his coworkers and customers alike. Over the past few years, Zak found his professional calling at Willow Creek Winery and Farm in West Cape May, New Jersey, where he served with distinction, becoming an invaluable asset. Zak left an indelible impression on the Cape May community all while volunteering as an assistant baseball coach for Wildwood Catholic.
Zak was a man with boundless humor and generosity. His infectious laughter and storytelling could light up any room, and his unwavering kindness touched countless lives. Beyond his professional career, Zak was an avid Trivial Pursuit player and possessed a great passion for baseball and football. His love for life was evident in every moment he spent with family and friends, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
A memorial viewing will be held on Saturday, October 11th at Evoy Funeral Home 3218 Bayshore Road, North Cape May, NJ. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 1:30pm-3:30pm. On Sunday, October 12th there will be a “Peaceful Warrior” tribute service at Grace Episcopal Church 200 Highfield Lane Nutley, NJ (Zak’s hometown church) at 2:00pm. Interment will follow on the grounds of the Grace Episcopal Memorial Gardens.
Preceded in death by his JaJa and Babce, Mitchell T. and Helen Mosior. Zak is survived by his beloved siblings, Jennifer (Jack) Antonicello, Rebecca (Nick) Mainiero, Mary Caputo, Lucas (Angela) Kane, and Jacob Kane; Jack Daddy (Patty) Kane; and cherished nieces & nephews: Seth, Giacomo, Isabella, Nicholas, Hannah, Nicholas, Mitchell, Patricia, Sophia, Kinley, John, Lillian, Caitlynn, Lia & Alaina. He is also survived by his many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the following Grace Episcopal Church ministries: Community Care Kitchen Ministry, the Music Ministry, or the Youth and Children’s Ministry, 200 Highfield Lane Nutley, NJ 07110. In honor of Zak’s love for baseball, donations in Coach Zak’s name can be made to the Wildwood Catholic Baseball Team, 1500 Central Avenue, North Wildwood, NJ 08260.
