It is with great sadness the family of David R. Barber, 66, announces his sudden passing on Wednesday, August 27th at his residence in Somers Point.

Born September 23, 1958, in Philadelphia PA, he was the son of the late Andrew G. and Josephine (Rowan) Barber.

He was a 1976 graduate of Lower Cape May Regional High School. While growing up, he was part of the Boy Scouts, earning his way to become an Eagle Scout. As a teenager, his hobby was body building and as he got older, he continued with weight training and staying active. One of his favorite past times was biking. A true fitness buff, he would ride 20 miles at a time. He also had a passion for classic cars and boats which led him to a career as a warranty claims administrator for the Viking Yacht Company.

Dave will be missed by his daughters Sarah Murphy, wife of Jim and Stephanie Nill, wife of Christian; his brother Andrew, husband of Diana; niece Melissa Axelsson and nephew Andrew Barber; 6 great nieces and nephews; and his great dane Loki.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects Friday, September 5th from 1PM until the time of service at 2PM at Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Road, North Cape May, NJ 08204.
