Marlene Tammy Chavanne, age 67 of Cape May, NJ passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025 at her home with family by her side. She was born and raised in South Philadelphia, PA and previously resided in Ohio before coming to Cape May 32 years ago. Marlene worked in retail and previously owned and operated Monfrere Bakery in Cape May, NJ.. She lastly worked for ACME Market in Cape May Court House, NJ. Marlene had also previously worked for Gaiss Market in Villas, NJ. Marlene loved listening to Elvis and Motown music and enjoyed baking. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her granddaughter.

Marlene is survived by her children; Melissa (Leroy Lashely) Chavanne and William Chavanne Jr. both of Cape May; her granddaughter Noel Chavanne; her former husband William Chavanne Sr.; her siblings Marcella (John) Campi and Lawrence (Roe) Aliberti. She also leaveas several nieces and nephews. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, Ruth and Lawrence Aliberti.

A private Celebration of Life is being planned and will be held at a later date.
