Marion Bangert Obituary

Marion Bangert, 83, North Cape May entered into eternal rest Saturday, August 23rd at Pelican Pointe Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born January 4, 1942 in Haddonfield NJ, she was the daughter of the late Anthony J. and Edna (Davis) D’Amelio.

Marion was a 1963 graduate of Haddon Heights High School.  She was employed as a legal secretary and worked in local law offices in Cape May County.

At the age of 8, Marion took a name off a board at a local post office and became pen pals with a young girl from Australia named Sandra.  Their friendship would continue to grow over the years as technology advanced so did their communications.  They would no longer write letters but would send emails.  The two even traveled together meeting in Hawaii, seeing the sights of the Big Apple and even visiting Australia for a long holiday.  Their friendship lasted until Sandra passed away in 2023.

Marion also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was more than their grand-mother, she was their confidant and best friend.

Marion is survived by her daughter Lara Wilson; son Phillip Bangert husband of Lisa; grandchildren Ashley Wilson (Ryan McCabe), Cody Z. Wilson (Kayla Cluff), Haley Cerasi wife of Cody, Shawn Wilson, Devin Wilson (Brionna), Logan Wilson and Sean Andrew Bangert.  She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Maleah Johnston whom she affectionately referred to as “Lil Sweet Pea”, Cowan Wilson, Creed Wilson and Skye Cerasi.

Funeral services and interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
