Joanne Helverson, 77, of Cape May Court House, passed away peacefully at home on August 3, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Joanne was born on July 22, 1948, in Philadelphia, PA. She took frequent trips to the Jersey Shore with her family before ultimately deciding to make it their forever home in the 1990s.
Joanne worked as the manager of Garden Lake Mobile Park for over 25 years and was well known throughout the community.
She was predeceased by her son, Michael (Jennifer), and her parents, John and Ella “Grambo” Heilmann.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Frank; her children, Matthew (Bridget) and Christina (Jason); her nine grandchildren, Matthew, Julie (Jayden), Alissa, Emma, Ryan, Jacie, Haille, Danika, and Megan; one great-grandchild on the way; and her sisters, Marylouise Somers and Theresa Muravsky.
Joanne enjoyed spending time with her family—especially her grandchildren—beach days, boardwalk rides, boats (that she was aware her husband purchased), flamingos, and traveling to Walt Disney World and New York City with family. She dreamed of one day visiting Paris, France, and often spoke about her desire to go.
Family and friends are welcome to call at Evoy Funeral Home 3218 Bayshore Road, North Cape May, NJ 08204 on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., with a funeral service to follow.
In lieu of flowers, Joanne requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
