Charlotte 'Dee' Smith, 75, of North Cape May, NJ, formerly of Philadelphia, PA passed away on Tuesday,

July 22, 2025, following a long battle with heart disease. She was a loving and devoted mother & grandmother and a faithful wife.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, John, her 3 children: Colene (Wade) Rinier, Maxine (Lawrence) Petrone, and Bradley (Erin) Smith, her 10 grandchildren: Crystal & PJ Hand, Kyle & Miranda Rinier, Frank & Natalie & Daniel Petrone, Aaron & Braden & Brielle Smith, and her 7 great-grandchildren.

Dee was the daughter of Jane and Charles Frank. As one of 13 children, she helped care for her younger siblings in a very close knit and loving family. Dee and John raised their children in Northeast Philadelphia, spending summers at their shore home.

She worked as an administrative assistant at a nursing home and took great pride in her dealings with staff and especially the residents. She was very proud when her daughters and granddaughter chose nursing as a career.

She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading and shopping. She sewed curtains for every window of her home and seasonal outfits for her doll collection. She especially loved "yard-saling", filling her home with her many treasures. Dee's favorite season was autumn with the changing colors and brisk air. She enjoyed Christmas; taking great joy in decorating every corner of her home with snowmen and other holiday decor. She had a close bond with her sisters and made great memories during their annual ladies weekend. Most of all she lived life to the fullest. With a warm heart, attentive ear and kind words, she was the person others turned to in their time of need. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held 10AM Wednesday, August 20th at Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Road, North Cape May, NJ 08204.
