David James Todd Obituary

David James Todd “Dave/Bungie” was born on March 10, 1949 in Philadelphia, PA, and left this world

on July 13, 2025 at the age of 76.


Dave was a longtime resident of Philadelphia, PA. before moving to Cape May County, NJ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, sisters, mother-in-law, father-in-law and brother in

law.


He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Beth DiPasquale Todd; a son, David James Todd (Heather)

(grandchild, Gage); a daughter, Michelle Todd Olson (Kevin), nieces, nephews, brother in law and

sister in laws.


Dave served in the U.S. Marine Corps (‘66-‘69), as a Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) (0331

Machine Gunner) during the Vietnam War, and was part of the famous 1st Battalion, 9th Marines

which earned its place in Marine Corps history. He was involved in some of the most intense fighting

in Vietnam, participating in Operation KING FISHER, Operation KENTUCKY, Operation NEO

SHO, Operation PAGESUS, Operation Scotland II, Operation Napoleon and Operation LANCASTER

II and was awarded a Vietnam Presidential Unit Citation (PUC) for exceptional heroism and out

standing performance during the Vietnam War among others.


His dedication and passion for the well-being of others led him to the Philadelphia Police Depart

ment in which he was presented several commendations and awards for recognized acts of bravery,

heroism, and exceptional service beyond the call of duty. Dave retired from security operations in the

casino industry after years of service, having worked directly with Donald Trump, Michael Jackson,

Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield, Roberto Durán, Michael Spinks, Floyd Patterson, Neil Diamond, Don

Johnson, Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Frank Sinatra, Kirk Douglas and Bill Cinton to name a few of

the countless boxers, celebrities and bands.


He touched the lives of many with his profound sense of humor (and zings), kindness, generosity,

thoughtfulness and devotion to his family. He will be remembered as a Hero, Warrior, Fighter, avid

angler (bass fishing was his favorite), family man and cheesesteak, breakfast and chocolate aficionado.


Dave leaves behind many family and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly.

Funeral Services will be held 11 AM Thursday, July 31st at Evoy Funeral Home 3218 Bayshore Road North Cape May NJ 08204. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 10AM until the time of service. Military honors will follow immediately after the service. Interment will private and at the convenience of the family.
