Obituary of Raymond A. Flickinger
Please share a memory of Raymond to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with profound sadness and deep love that we announce the passing of Raymond A. Flickinger, 82 of North Cape May, NJ and formerly of Philadelphia, PA who departed this world on July 2, 2025, surrounded by the family he loved so dearly. Born February 1, 1943 in Philadelphia, PA, Raymond was the son of Lloyd and Helen Flickinger.
A loving, caring, and selfless man, he never said no to a person in need. Whether it was family, a friend, or a complete stranger, he was always the first to step in and help. He had a remarkable way of showing up for others, often without being asked and always without expecting anything in return.
Ray was an inspiration to many, not for a grand gesture, but because of the quiet strength, love, compassion, and humility with which he lived. He was a man of strong Catholic faith and a proud Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, where he served both his church and community. As an avid Philadelphia sports fan, he never lost hope in his beloved Eagles, Phillies, Sixers, or Flyers. But above all, he was the ultimate family man. His greatest joy was his role as a husband, father, PopPop, and friend. Every hug, every word of encouragement, every sacrifice he gave fully and freely, shaping the lives of those he loved with unwavering dedication.
Though our hearts are heavy, we take great comfort in knowing the legacy he leaves behind is vast and enduring, rooted in love, family, service and unwavering faith.
Ray, your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
He is predeceased by his parents, Lloyd & Helen. He is survived by his loving wife, Marie, sons Christopher (Lori) and Eric (Rachel), grandchildren- Allie, Joey, Tyler, & Alex and sister Evelyn (John) and brother Herb (Mary Alice), sisters-in-law Ginny & Gloria and brother-in-law Michael (Patty) as well as a wide circle of extended family and friends who will continue to honor his memory by living the values he held so dear.
