Thomas J. O'Donnell, 76, of Cape May County, NJ, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by love on June 26, 2025. Born on January 18, 1949, in Philadelphia, PA, Tom was the beloved son of William and Dorothy O'Donnell. A devoted family man, he was the loving husband of Donna O'Donnell for 26 years and the proud father of their three daughters: Kelly Bucci (Nicola), Amy Bryce, and Megan Owens. To his six grandchildren—Nathan, Jada, Emily, Jamie, Giovanni, and Angela—he was affectionately known as “Pop-Pop,” a fun-loving, gentle, and joyful presence in their lives. Tom was one of seven siblings. He was predeceased by his sister Dorothy (Joe) Parker, brother William O'Donnell, and sister Margaret O'Donnell. He is survived by his siblings Daniel (Marie) O'Donnell, Kathleen (Daniel) O'Donnell, and Michael O'Donnell, who will continue to cherish his memory. For the last eight years of his life, Tom shared his days with his beloved fiancée, Dolores “Dolly” Rotchford. Along with her children and grandchildren, Dolly brought warmth, laughter, and companionship that brightened his life in every way. Tom was our “Superman.” A proud Vietnam veteran, he served his country with courage and distinction, earning the Army Commendation Medal with Valor for heroic actions during combat. His bravery didn’t end overseas—Tom returned home to serve as a Philadelphia Police Officer, dedicating 32 years of his life to protecting and serving his community. Outside of his uniform, Tom was a man of many passions. A gifted singer with a deep love for music, his voice brought joy to countless family gatherings and quiet moments. He found happiness in the simple things: fishing, golfing, collecting tools, gadgets, and electronics. He was a devoted Eagles fan—bleeding green every season—and a lifelong enthusiast of The Price Is Right. Tom will be remembered for his enormous heart, his contagious laugh, his uncanny ability to whistle full songs, and his unforgettable storytelling. He valued friendship, lived simply, and gave generously. His love, humor, and legacy will live on in the many lives he touched. Services are pending. In honor of Tom’s life and his dedication to service, the family invites charitable donations to be made to the Gary Sinise Foundation, which supports veterans, first responders, and their families—causes close to his heart. https://www.garysinisefoundation.org/donate
