Obituary of Harley M. Shuler

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Harley Shuler, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Harley was 82, born on December 6, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio. Harley lived a life filled with love for his family, kindness, dedication to life, and love of community. He was an electrical engineer and V.P. of a satellite corporation which gave him the opportunity to travel around the world. Harley took immense pride in his involvement in the Satellite/Telecommunications industry. After retirement he developed an interest in yard sales and antiquing creating a hobby/business called the Attic Trunk. He loved the Kiwanis Club of Cape May, playing bridge, The tennis Club of Cape May, bike riding, going to the gym, dancing and singing in Josie's productions, being a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, playing Folk Songs on the guitar, taking long walks with his dogs, and spending time at the beach with his daughter and grandchildren. Harley will be remembered for summertime BBQ's, crazy fun Christmases, the flag lowering ceremony at the Cove, bike riding and many other activities. He also loved contributing to the betterment of Cape May thru his role as a Cape May Planning Board Member. Harley's warm smile, friendly personality, love of family, and ability to make everyone feel special will always be remembered. He is survived by his wife of 37 years Denise, daughter Lori, grandchildren Kristin, Marc and Eric, and sister Arlene. Harley is predeceased by his daughter Kimberly, brother Raymond and parents Rosalind and Myron. Harley's presence will be deeply missed but his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM on Thursday May 29, 2025 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Road, North Cape May where relatives and friends will be received from 1 to 2 pm. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to be made to the Kim Shuler Memorial Scholarship fund, c/o Kim Pearlmutter, Monroe-Woodbury Senior High School, 155 Dunderberg Road, Central Valley, NY 10917
