I took care of Bobs lawn for the last 10 years or so. He would always come out and we mostly chatted about fishing because I also worked on commercial fishing boats for years. It's very sad to hear of his passing . Really great guy !!! Rest in peace my friend.

We were shocked and saddened to learn of Bob’s passing. We had only recently renewed our friendship from the early 70s where the ladies all worked together at the SJ Cable Co. We had fun memories from back then and more good times with the gang going to live DJ parties on the Boardwalk. It amazed us how a man who could be as quiet and low key as Bob would eagerly get up and dance with the group and, of course, his beloved Paula. We will miss his humor and his smile. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Q: What will you never forget about Robert?
A: I grew up with the entire family. My mom and dad were friends with Bob’s parents. Had a long history with the Vanaman family.

We will always remember and honor Bob as “Captain Bob.” We recall exciting fishing stories as well as his joy with Paula and our many dancing friends at the Jerry Blavat dances.
