Obituary of Leon Walle

Leon B. Walle, 69, Cape May Point, entered into eternal rest peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones Thursday, March 27th at Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia. Born January 14, 1956 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late Halfdan and Grace (Rusk) Walle. Leon graduated from Upper Darby High School Class of 1974. He worked as a machinist for Kimberly Clark in Chester PA. After retiring in 2016, he relocated to the home his father built in Cape May Point. He took advantage of retired life and enjoyed spending his time boating and fishing. When he wasn't on his boat, he could be found cheering on any and all of the Philly sports teams. He took pride in the award he won in 2017 for his vegetable garden. He was also a volunteer firefighter for the CMPT Fire Company. But above all else, he enjoyed the time he spent with his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Eleanor (Walle) Knapp in 2008. Leon will forever be missed by his wife of 35 years Kim (Broska); daughter Ryann DiRenzo; grandchildren Kevin Knapp, Jr., Tyler Knapp, Hannah Holsonback (Knapp), Dylan Knapp and Hunter Rose Vaughn; great grandchildren Emma Grace and Violet Marie Holsonback; and a sister, Sister Grace Marie Walle, Society of Mary (Marianist). Funeral services will be held 12:30PM Friday, April 11 at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church 501 Cape Ave. Cape May Point NJ 08212. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from Noon until the time of service. A reception will follow at the CMPT Firehouse in Cape May Point.
