Robert J Gable Obituary

Robert J. Gable, 70, Cape May Court House, entered into eternal rest, Wednesday March 5th at his residence.

Born October 17, 1954 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Joseph V. and Marie (Botts) Gable. He was a graduate of the former DelHass High School. Being from Philadelphia, he loved all things Philadelphia including all of the sports teams- the Phillies, Flyers and Seventy-Sixers and How about them Eagles!

Bob was a member of the St. John Neumann Council #3546 Knights of Columbus where he was a third-degree Knight. He along with his wife, Marie, volunteered their time at the North Wildwood Knights of Columbus breakfasts. He worked for the Facilities and Services Department of Cape May County for 23years.

He enjoyed watching old time Westerns like Gunsmoke, Bonanza, Rifleman and old school cop shows like Adam 12, In the Heat of the Night and Matlock.

Robert could be described as very loyal and fun loving. He was a bit of a jokester who enjoyed playing pranks on his family and friends. He will forever be known as Mr. Christmas because of his love for the Holiday and decorating. He and his sons would hand cut wooden lawn ornaments. He was proud to win numerous awards for his decorating abilities.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Joseph Gable and a sister Diane Wardaski.

He will forever be missed by his wife of 42 years, the former Marie Weigand; sons Steven A. Baumstark, Douglas J. Baumstark and Robert V. Gable; grandchildren Christian Baumstark and Vincent Baumstark; his faithful friend Rocky; sisters Elizabeth Whitbeck, Deborah Burgess (George), Maryann Highfield and Denise Bigelow; and many nieces and nephews.
