David C. Adams Obituary

David C. Adams, 92, shook off his mortal coil and went Home on February 19. Born at Margaret Mace Hospital in North Wildwood, NJ to Samuel Adams and Gladys Adams (Nee Joseph), Dave was a life-long resident. He grew up in Wildwood Crest, attending local schools. After school, Dave joined the Army National Guard, eventually enlisting in the United States Air Force, where he served during the Korean Conflict, assigned to Naha Air Base in Okinawa. During his time of service, he played baseball for his unit's team. After his service, he met and married his late wife, Alice (Nee Cahill) in 1958. They were married until her passing in 1997. Dave worked for New Jersey Transit for 30 years as a repairman, retiring in 1989. Most of his tenure was spent working out of the garage in Wildwood, NJ. He then worked for several years for Cape May MAC before fully retiring. His ability to fix things, especially mechanical, was much appreciated by many.

Dave had a love for Big Bands, his favorite being The Harry James Orchestra. His favorite tune was "Ultra". He also enjoyed the Voice of Frank Sinatra. He played trumpet in several local bands in his younger years, including "The Four Flames", along with his late best friend, John "Nick" Graff, who played drums. He possessed a very unique sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. Dave also enjoyed bowling, belonging to several leagues through the years. Occasionally, he would be up for a pick-up game of softball, playing until he was well into his 70's.

Dave is predeceased by his loving wife Alice, daughter Susan, his stepdaughter Patricia, as well as his brother, George, and George's wife, Cass. He will be greatly missed by his son, David and his wife Sandi, his stepdaughter, Nancy, as well as his grandchildren, John, James, Rachel, Christopher and Susan.
