Obituary of Sarah A Lees
Please share a memory of Sarah to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with great sadness the family of the late Sarah A. "Sally" Lees announce her sudden passing on Thursday, February 13 at her home.
Sally was born October 1, 1950 in Sea Isle City, NJ to the late Michael and Marjorie (Brown) Harron. After graduating from Lower Cape May Regional High School, she continued her education and became an X-ray technician. She was employed as an X-ray tech for at the former Burdette-Tomlin Memorial Hospital and Cape Regional Medical Center, Cape May Court House for over 20 years. She left for a short while to raise her children. After retiring from the hospital, she joined her husband and family to work at their real estate company, which they founded together in 1983. Her calming presence, kindness and selflessness were three of her greatest attributes, among many others.
Sally had many interests and talents. She was an avid reader, and loved animals. She was known for her artistic abilities - painting, drawing and designing. She even sketched out and designed additions to the family homes. In her free time, she loved everything about nature; from gardening and taking in the beauty the flowers and plants she planted, to taking long walks on the beach or sitting on the canal and watching the boats pass by with the love of her life, her husband Ed by her side. She and Ed had a love like no other. They enjoyed vacationing at their second home in the Outer Banks, taking cruises together, and spending time with their family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Sally is preceded in death by her siblings Jimmy Harron, Jack Harron, Peggy Street and Bill Harron.
Sally will be forever missed by her husband of 52 years, Edward G. Lees, Jr. whom she married May 20, 1972; her children Jessica, Edward III (Ralitsa) and Sarah (Michael). Her greatest joy in life was becoming a grandmother to Ethan, Evette, Declan and Pierce. Her memory will forever live on in their hearts.
She will also be missed by many dear friends, whom she considered family, as well as many nieces and nephews, cousins and colleagues.
Funeral Services will be held 11:30AM Tuesday, February 18 at Evoy Funeral Home 3218 Bayshore Road North Cape May. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 10AM until the time of service. Interment will be held on the grounds of Cold Spring Cemetery.
The family would prefer that donations be made in Sally's name to either the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
