Johanna (Joan) H. McGuckin (nee Abramczyk), resident of West Wildwood, NJ for over 20 years, passed away on January 21, 2025, after a brief illness, surrounded by her family. Johanna, age 84, was born and raised in the Fishtown section of Philadelphia, was a parishioner of Saint Laurentius Catholic Church, and a graduate of John W. Hallahan High School.
Johanna was pre-deceased by her beloved husband Bernard, after 64 years of marriage, and by her son Kenneth.
Johanna is survived by her daughter Debra Eberly (Steven); her grandchildren Kelly Holroyd (Stephen), Jennifer Swink (Isaac) and Samantha Eberly; and great grandchildren Kendall and Brynnlee Holroyd and Charlotte Swink. She is also survived by her two sisters Regina McCloskey (Edward, deceased) and Edwina McGuckin (Gerard).
For many years, Johanna was employed as an Administrative Assistant with Creative Plastics and Friel Bernheim. She was a devoted wife, selflessly caring for the needs of her husband who suffered from Parkinson's Disease for more than 25 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt. She found so much joy in being with family and friends.
A celebration of Johanna's life will be held on March 1, 2025 at Evoy Funeral Homes, Inc. 3218 Bayshore Road, North Cape May, NJ 08204. Visitation begins at noon with a memorial service at 2:00 pm.
