George F Rementer Obituary

George Freeman Rementer, 73 passed peacefully on January 27, 2025, at his home in North Cape May, NJ after a year-long battle with cancer. George is survived and missed by his loving wife Patricia of 19 years, his four children, Seth (Jennifer), Addie, Tyson (Samantha), Andrew (Margherita) as well as his eight grandchildren and sister Diane (Antoine) Sayegh.


George was predeceased by his father, George W. Rementer and his mother Gwendolyn Irey. George grew up in Broomall, PA and moved to Deer Trail, Colorado with his first wife, Susan, where he was a school teacher and principal. They moved to Cape May, NJ in the early 1980's. George was a skilled wallpaper hanger and wallpapered many of the Bed and Breakfasts in Cape May. They owned Cape Wallpaper & Flooring in West Cape May for 28 years. He later became a Union paper hanger in Atlantic City. He truly enjoyed his work and never complained a day in his life.


George lived an active and rich life with seemingly boundless energy. A man of many interests, his last passion being bird-watching which led him to travel to all 50 states as well as many different countries abroad. George discovered his creativity through wood-working, creating an impressive collection of intricate inlay furniture pieces that reflect his ingenuity and colorful spirit.


Above all, George was a great man with a deep love and devotion for his family. He led by example and maintained a lighthearted approach to life with a sharp wit and sense of humor. He will be missed and will be in our hearts forever and always.


A service will be held at Evoy Funeral Home in North Cape May, NJ on Sunday, February 2, 2025 from 1–3pm. All are welcome.
