Philomena V. Thomas Mena, 83 of, Villas, NJ, passed away on Monday. February 18, 2008 in the Oceana Nursing Home, Swainton, NJ.
Formerly of Upper Darby and S.W. Philadelphia she has resided in the Villas since 1981. She was one of the original founders of the Christ Child Society at St. John of God Church and served as secretary of the Altar Rosary Society, Church Sexton and was a Eucharistic Minister.
Philomena was preceded in death by her husband John Thomas Sr. She is survived by three daughters, Philomena Garrett of Hawaii, Jo Ann Murphy of PA and Ellen Gavin of MD; two sons, John Jr. of PA and Edward of DE; two brother, James Swahl of PA and Frank Swahl of MD; ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday February 22, 2008, 11:00 am at Saint John of God RC Church, 680 Townbank Road, N. Cape May. Friends may call Friday from 9:00 to 10:30 am at Evoy Funeral Homes., 3218 Bayshore Road, N. Cape May, NJ. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Cold Spring. Contributions may be made in her memory to the Holy Redeemer Hospice Agency, 1801 US Rt. 9, Swainton, NJ 08210
