Ruth Louise McDonald of the Villas passed away on Saturday October 27, 2007 at 8:30 am. Born in Philadelphia on July 15, 1915. Ruth resided in the Villas for most of her adult life. She was a retiree from the A&P where she worked in the meat room. She also was one of the previous owners of the Maple Court Motel, which was located in Wildwood, NJ. Ruth was an excellent cook and enjoyed her activities of bingo and ceramics. Ruth was the daughter of the late George and Susan (Price) Smith the first owners of Smittys bar on the bay in the Villas. She was predeceased by her husband Paul McDonald a former mayor of the Villas and her sister Grace Mulligan. Surviving are her loving brother George (Gabby) Smith, (Eleanor) of the Villas, her nephew John Smith (Peggy) of Glassboro, George C. Smith (Diane of Cape May Court House, her niece Susan Nelson (Donald ) of English Creek and Bonita Mulligan of the Villas. Her viewing will be held on Tuesday Oct. 30th, 2007from 6-8 PM and on Wednesday from 10-11 AM at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Road, North Cape May, NJ. Funeral services will be at 11 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Cold Spring Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, condolences and remembering here in your prayers would be much appreciated.
