John W Baker, Sr., age 75, of Del Haven passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Cape Regional Medical Center. John was born September 20, 1942 in Cape May Court House and has been a life-long Cape May area resident. He is the son of the late Benjamin L and the late Louise (Hearon) Baker. John served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was a carpenter by trade and worked in Maintenance at the Pier 6600 Hotel in Wildwood Crest. John was a proud member of the NRA, a Life Member of the DAV in Del Haven, and was an avid hunter & fisherman. He was preceded in death by his wife Maureen and his sister Barbara Livingston. John is survived by his five sons: John Jr. (Elaine Flounders), Benjamin, Robert, Mathew (Jamie), & Ross (Megan); and his daughter Lisa Baker. Also surviving are his sister Lois (Jim) Cowan; his brother-in-law Harold Livingston; 10 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. John will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 am on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am.
