William E. Swan Sr., age 82, of West Cape May passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the North Cape Center. William was born October 16, 1934 in Trenton, NJ. to the late Edward William and the late Marjorie (Carrick) Swan. He was a self -employed Mason and also worked and retired after 30 years of service from the Woodbine Developmental Center William had been a firemen with the West Cape May Fire Dept. for 14 years. He was a charter member of the Jaycees in the Cape May area.  He was an active member of TOPS. William had been a Webelo and Boy Scout Leader in West Cape May and he enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He was preceded in death by his daughter Terry Lynn Swan. He is survived by his wife of 60 years: Helen Carolyn (nee Garrison) Swan ; two sons, William (Karen Lynn) E. Swan Jr. and Russell (Benji) Charles Swan; a sister: Shirley Hemingway and a brother Bud Holmes. William also leaves seven grandchildren,, Christopher Swan; , Andrew Pfender, Russell Swan, Benjamin Swan, Katherine Swan, Lily Swan and Garrison Swan. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to6:00 pm on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Road, N Cape May and will be followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM.. Burial will be private. Condolences will be received at www.evoyfuneralhome.com.
