John E Devine, "Jack", age 82, of South Seaville, NJ passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at his home. Jack was born April 18, 1935 in Pottsville, PA, was raised in Glenolden, PA and formerly lived in Norwood PA before coming to Cape May County in 1988. He served in the Army during peace time. Jack worked for General Electric in Philadelphia, PA for 34 years, then worked as a security guard. He most recently worked for Cape Counseling in Cape May Court House. Jack had been a Constable for the State of Pennsylvania. He served as a committeeman and was chairmen of the Republican Party for over 30 years. Jack was a very avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and also enjoyed reading. He was a member of the Prospect Park Masonic Lodge #578 F&AM. Jack was preceded in death by his son Keith J. Devine (May 2017). He is survived by his wife: Janet L. (nee Lynn) Devine; a daughter Sharon (Steve) Burke and his grandson Keith J. Devine Jr. Funeral services will be handled privately.
