Obituary of Leo P Sheehan

Leo P Sheehan, age 88, of Villas went to be with the Lord Thursday, June 8, 2017 after a long illness. Leo was born in Philadelphia in 1929, was formerly of West Philadelphia, and has been a Cape May area resident since 1993. His family has summered here since 1971. He was one of thirteen children to the late Edward & the late Veronica (McHugh) Sheehan. Leo graduated from West Catholic High School. He married Dorothy O'Brien and they raised eight children together. Leo was a devout Catholic who adored his church and loved his Lord. He prayed Catholic prayers daily for all people. Leo was a member of St Raymond's RC Church, the Knights of Columbus and the Plumber's Union Local 690 for most of his life. His favorite thing to do was to see his grandchildren and great grandchild. Leo never missed a birthday. Leo had a gentle heart and the kindest soul. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Mae Sheehan in 2007, his sons: Michael & Edward, his sister, and five brothers. Leo is survived by his children: Thomas (Eileen), Leo, Dorothy (daughter-in-law), Brian, Dottie, Barbara (John) Shields, and Julia (James) Harrity. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren: Wendy, Heather, Tina, Colleen, Erin, John, MacKenzie, Jessica, and Brooke, and 1 great grandson Cameron. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Parish of St John Neumann, St John of God RC Church, 680 Townbank Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
