Harry Barikian, age 94, of North Cape May passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, June 5, 2017 at the home of his daughter. He was born November 5, 1922 in Philadelphia, PA; was formerly of Stratford, NJ; and has been a Cape May area resident since 1972. Harry is the son of the late Sahak and the late Osanna Barikian. He served his country in the US Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Harry was employed by John Wanamaker Dept. Store in Philadelphia as a Retail Manager and also at Dellas Department Store in Cape May from 1972 to 1985. He was a former member of the VFW Post # 73 in Stratford, NJ. Harry was preceded in death by his wife Anna (nee Dutch) Barikian, his daughter Rosanne Barikian, and his sister Rose Barikian. He is survived by his daughter: Lisa A (Robert) Harpster of North Cape May, NJ; and four sons: Joseph (Phyllis) A Barikian of Stratford, NJ; Robert (Louise) T Barikian of Stratford, NJ; Paul (Marlene) Barikian of Cape May, NJ and David (Michele) A Barikian of Villas, NJ. Also surviving are his brother: James (Helena) Barikian of Clifton Heights, PA; eighteen grandchildren, and nineteen great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 11:00 am on Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Parish of St John Neumann, St John of God R.C. Church, 680 Townbank Road, N. Cape May, NJ; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Cape May County Veteran's Cemetery, 127 Crest Haven Rd, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
