Helen Smith, age 92, of Cape May Court House, passed away Friday, May 19, 2017 at Kennedy University Hospital of Sewell, NJ. Helen was born in Philadelphia, PA; formerly lived in North East Philly; and has been a Cape May area resident since 1973. Helen was catholic by faith. She and her late husband owned and operated Smitty's Service Station in Del Haven, NJ from 1973 t0 2005. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Edwin S "Smitty" Smith in 2009, her father Harry Spindler, and step mother Elsie Spindler. She is survived by her two sons: Edward H (Jean) Smith of Philadelphia, PA and Kenneth R (Dawn) Smith of Washington Twp, NJ; and her daughter: Linda (Frank) McCutcheon of Collegeville, PA. Also surviving are 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, one brother Jerry (Dotty) Spindler, and one sister Marilyn (Harry) Oliveri. There will be a Funeral Service at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
