Kathleen M. "Bonnie" Smith, age 71, of Villas passed away Friday, January 27, 2017 with her husband and best friend of 45 years, Harry, by her side. She is the daughter of the late Thomas and the late Margaret (Barry) O'Neill. Bonnie is survived by her husband Harry and her children: Shane Smith, Holly Luckangelo, and Kelly Smith. She has seven grandchildren who she loved dearly: Logan, AvaRose, Connor, AJ, Cody, Layla, and Oliver. She also has a sister, Gaela O'Neill. Bonnie was employed by the Girl Scouts, was a Girl Scout Leader and was a lifetime Girl Scout. She spent her summers in her pool surrounded by her grandchildren. Her love of swimming came from synchronized swimming as a child. Bonnie was always a generous and compassionate person. She was an excellent chef and baker. Bonnie always had her home decorated for every holiday with lights, symbols, and lots of decorations. Bonnie was a member of the Republican Party. She worked as a judge of elections for many years in Philadelphia. She was a county committee person and worked the polls in Villas. Upon retiring from the polls, Bonnie received a certificate of recognition from the Cape May County Board of Elections. Bonnie will be in the hearts of her husband, children, and grandchildren forever. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at the Parish of St John Neumann, St John of God RC Church, 680 Townbank Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
