Dorothy Elizabeth Newkirk, age 93, of Rio Grande passed away peacefully Monday, August 1, 2016. Dorothy was born June 26, 1923 in Wildwood, NJ; and has been a life-long Cape May area resident. She is the daughter of the late John and the late Louella (Watson) Hewitt. She was an active member of the Lower Cape May Senior Center in Villas. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Arlington Newkirk and her brothers: John Hewitt & Harold L Hewitt. She is survived by her sisters-in-law Dorothy Hewitt & Shirley Hewitt, and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a private graveside service held at Baptist Cemetery, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
