William R Ritter, age 83, of North Cape May passed away Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at North Cape Center. Bill was born April 10, 1933 in Philadelphia, PA. He is the son of the late William Ritter and the late Verna (Walters) Potter. He was employed by SPD, Philadelphia, PA as a Manager. Singing and entertaining were a huge part of Bill's life. He was in many choirs over the years beginning at St Joan of Arc Church, Camden, NJ; and the Parish of St John Neumann at St Raymond's Church, Villas, NJ; & St John of God Church, North Cape May, NJ. Bill was delighted to be part of the Camden, NJ Diocesan Choir, especially when they recorded a Marian CD in Washington, DC and his name was listed as one of the singers. He was in his element when in front of an audience. Bill was a member of the Spirit Players based at St John Neumann Parish where he performed in many musicals and skits delighting audiences with his strong voice and great wit. He appeared as one of the leads in their version of "Arsenic and Old Lace" and loved the challenge of learning his lines helping to make the show a big success, all the while battling the illness that took him from us. Bill was preceded in death by his son William R Ritter, Jr and his first wife Sarah (nee DeGardnuer). He is survived by his wife of 21 years: Lorraine (Chiarulli) Ritter; one daughter: Marie (Laroyce) Morton; and two sons: Robert Ritter & Michael Ritter.
