Please share a memory of Bartolomeo to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Bartolomeo J Letizio, (1927-2015) Barry was born in Philadelphia and later resided in North Cape May, NJ with his loving wife of 64 years, Mary (Prodoehl). They raised 6 children in East Falls and later lived in Fort Washington and Warminster PA. After serving in the US Navy, Barry worked as a master mechanic for 46 years. He spent his early years at Ronan Motors, Ogontz Motors and Koelle-Greenwood before retiring in 1989 from Yocum Ford in Lansdale, PA. Barry picked up the nickname "Pop" while he worked at Yocum and that is how people knew him from then on. While living in North Cape May, Barry was an active member of the Knights of Columbus Council 3546, Erma and Msgr. Moroney Assembly 671, Wildwood. Barry devoted himself to his Council through a variety of services which he offered with a sincere and dedicated heart. He also performed many tasks such as building a storage shed for bicycles for the nun's retreat home at St. Mary's by the Sea, Cape May. Barry loved working with wood and he created countless benches, shelves, and over-the-door cats which can be found in the houses of people he loved, He saved tons of wood from ending up in the landfill by using cut-offs collected from construction sites where he was invited to take as much as he could carry in one hand as he rode his bicycle around the neighborhood. He and Mary traveled the world in their retirement years with their friend from North Cape Seniors and Sons of Italy. They spent time in Europe from London to Italy as well as many cruises and a Dude Ranch in the Catskills, but Italy was his favorite. Barry is survived by his wife Mary; children; Barry (Lisa) of Chalfont, PA, Steven of Delaware, Joan Hepp (Rich) of Arizona, Anne of Hatfield, PA, Michele Frank of Newtown Square, PA, Thomas (Laureen) of Ambler, PA; brother Samuel of Warminster, PA; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jonathan, Kelsey, Steven, Robert, Andrew, Melissa, Caroline, Jason, Rachael, Heather, Adrienne, Kimberly, Taylor, and Nicholas; six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Samuel and Anna Letizio Sr. and sisters, Mary Stow and Rosalie Unger
