Obituary of Samuel Vincent Fortino

Samuel Fortino, age 74, of Villas, NJ passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at his home. Samuel was born in Philadelphia and resided there most of his life before moving to Cape May County in 2010. Sam refurbished brownstone buildings on Broad Street in Philadelphia and later worked for JPS Construction in Philadelphia. He lastly was a self employed contractor working on commercial buildings in Philadelphia. Sam was a member of St. John Neumann Parish in North Cape May and was a member of the Sons of Italy, Tacony , PA. He enjoyed volunteering at Christmas time at the Children's Hospitals in Philadelphia. Sam also enjoyed fishing and collecting antiques. He is survived by his son Samuel V. Fortino Jr.; his daughter Dawn Fortino; a grandson, Andrew Marko; two brothers, Justin Fortino and Vincent Fortino; and two sisters, Michell Fortino and Rita Tice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Resurrection of Our Lord Parish, Castor Ave and Vista Street, Philadelphia, PA; where relatives and friends may call one hour prior to the Mass. Burial will be held at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont, PA.
