Alfred Nicholas DeVito, age 89, of Rio Grande passed away peacefully Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Victoria Manor. Alfred was born October 16, 1925 in Philadelphia, PA and has been a Rio Grande area resident for 28 years. He is the son of the late Charles and the late Carmella (Giordano) DeVito. Alfred served his country in the US Navy during World War II and was a lifetime member of the VFW. He was employed by Home Depot, Midddle Township, NJ as a Greeter. Alfred was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy (nee Ciavarelli) DeVito in 1999. He is survived by two daughters: Mary O'Brien of York, PA, & Diane (Michael) McIntyre of Sewell, NJ; and two sons: Alfred N DeVito, Jr. of Philadelphia, PA, & Joseph (Patti) DeVito of Philadelphia, PA. Also surviving are five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Our Lady Of The Angels RC Church, 35 E Mechanic St, CMCH, NJ; where friends will be received from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at Cape May Co. Veteran's Cemetery, 127 Crest Haven Rd, CMCH. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Holy Redeemer Hospice, 1801 Route 9 South, Swainton, NJ, 08210.
